Substance Abuse/Use Evaluation
The purpose of the substance abuse/use evaluation is to gather background information regarding youth or young adults history and current usage and abuse of illegal mood-altering substances, explore the family dynamics, explore youth and family presenting challenges and presenting needs, assess the youth strengths, needs, and risky behaviors, assess level of motivation and commitment to change, and identify goals and the appropriate level of care for treatments.
The assessment is provided by a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC only) in the family’s home or in community.
